Bangs:
A single cutting of bangs.
Single Process Color:
Single Process means that a new color or toner is applied all over to create a new base color. The hair is lifted and deposited in one easy step. It’s the most common out of the two, and it’s wonderful for covering grays and adding shininess to dull hair.
Double Process Color:
Double Process is typically used when lightening hair by more than two shades. First the hair is bleached to remove natural or colored hair pigments, and then pigment is added into the hair to create the desired shade.
Wash / Rollers:
Your hair is washed and conditioned (or deep condition if requested). The hair is set in rollers and you are put under a hooded dryer. The hooded dryers at the salons normally don’t take too long to dry your hair. After your hair is dry, the rollers are removed.
Highlight:
A highlighting technique that involves coloring selected strands of hair by slicing or weaving out sections and lacing them on foil with lightener or hair color applied to the selected sections. The hair is sealed in the foil while processing.
Wash / Set:
A Dominican Wash and Set or Blowout, your hair is washed and conditioned (or deep condition if requested). Than the hair is set in rollers and you are put under a hooded dryer.  The hooded dryers at the salons normally don’t take too long to dry your hair.  The offer a nice even heat that is safe for your hair.  After your hair is dry, the rollers are removed.  Then (actual “blowout” method) the stylist uses a round brush and a handheld blow dryer w/concentrator nozzle to straighten the hair.  The concentrator nozzle is very important as it directs the heat into one specific area. Oil, shine, hair polisher or gloss is applied after the hair has been completely blown out.  Very little product is used during the blowout process to help the hair maintain its natural movement and bounce.  When a Dominican blowout is done correctly, the hair is smooth, shiny, bouncy, and feels very light weight.
Relaxer:
A relaxer is a type of lotion or cream generally used by people with kinky or very curly hair which makes hair less tangled and also easier to straighten by chemically “relaxing” the natural curls.
Wash / Style:
A Dominican Wash and Style is similar to a Wash and Set or Blowout except no rollers are used.  Instead the hair is blown out directly, therefore dried using the blow dryer.  STEPS:  First, your hair is washed and conditioned (or deep condition if requested).  Second, your hair is dried using a blow dryer.
